Sector overview

IPECS delivers integrated climate-smart solutions addressing the interlinked challenges of environmental sustainability, energy transition, agricultural resilience, and climate adaptation. The firm supports governments and development partners in translating climate commitments into actionable, scalable, and locally grounded interventions, aligned with Pakistan's National Climate Change Policy, Nationally Determined Contributions, the Paris Agreement, and SDGs 7, 13, 15, and 2.

IPECS approaches climate and environmental action through a systems lens, recognising the strong interdependencies between natural resources, livelihoods, food security, infrastructure, and institutional capacity. All solutions are scientifically sound, socially inclusive, and economically viable, ensuring long-term resilience for communities and institutions in the face of accelerating climate change.

Core technical capabilities

Climate policy, planning and mainstreaming

Services include climate risk and vulnerability assessments; climate policy analysis and advisory; mainstreaming climate resilience into sector plans and investment programmes; climate action planning at provincial and local government levels; and alignment of development programmes with NDCs and national climate strategies.

Renewable energy and low-carbon solutions

Services include renewable energy system planning, monitoring, and performance assessment; solar and clean energy programme advisory and implementation support; energy access and off-grid solutions for underserved communities; energy efficiency and demand-side management; and institutional frameworks for sustainable, equitable energy delivery.

Climate-smart agriculture and food systems

Services include climate-smart agriculture advisory and implementation support; sustainable land management planning and soil conservation; water-efficient and drought-resilient farming practices; agricultural value chain strengthening and market linkages; and institutional support to agriculture and rural development agencies for climate integration.

Natural resource and environmental management

Services include integrated land and water resource management; groundwater monitoring, assessment, and protection; biodiversity conservation planning and ecosystem management; environmental impact assessments and strategic environmental assessments; and pollution prevention and resource efficiency advisory.

Climate resilience and disaster risk reduction

Services include climate risk screening of development projects and investments; climate adaptation strategy development and implementation support; community-based resilience planning and disaster preparedness; early warning system design and institutional preparedness frameworks; and institutional strengthening for resilience management and climate risk governance.

Environmental and social safeguards

Services include environmental and social management framework development; Environmental and Social Management Plan preparation and implementation support; safeguard monitoring and compliance verification; capacity building on environmental governance and compliance; and stakeholder engagement and environmental disclosure processes.
